Another two IRIS-T systems to arrive from Germany to Ukraine before Christmas

Major General Christian Freuding, who is the Director of Planning and Command Staff of the Federal Ministry of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany, has announced the transfer of IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine in the near future.

During a meeting with journalists in Kyiv, he emphasized the importance of his visit to Ukraine after the U.S. presidential election and on the eve of the German election. According to him, one of the key messages of this visit is that Germany's support continues.

"In the last few days we have delivered artillery howitzers, tanks, Marder infantry fighting vehicles. We've launched our strike drone program. And the next IRIS-T SLM and SLS systems should arrive in the coming days before Christmas," the Major General said.

Freuding assured that Germany will be on Ukraine's side and will provide support in different areas regardless of any changes in the government and elections.

"You can really rely on German politics, on the German people who will support you regardless of the elections that will take place in about eight weeks," he said.

The Major General also noted that Ukraine has become a second home for him in a way.

"It is quite understandable for me that this war has been going on for more than ten years. I think it is always worthwhile and important to bring this to the attention of the public, especially in Western Europe," he said.
