Zelenskyy addresses humanitarian aid, creation of military commandant's offices in Kursk region
The issues of providing humanitarian aid to residents of the Ukrainian-controlled areas in Kursk region and the creation of military commandant's offices there, if necessary, were discussed at a meeting called by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"A meeting on the situation in Kursk region. We discussed key issues. Security, humanitarian aid, the creation of military commandant's offices, if necessary," the head of state said on the Telegram channel on Wednesday.
"Ukraine is defending itself and the lives of its people in border communities and is taking active action on the territory of Russia. Our forces strictly comply with the requirements of international conventions and international humanitarian law," he said.
The presidential press service said Interior Minister of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko reported during the meeting on the humanitarian aspects of assistance to the Ukrainian defense forces and ensuring security in border communities, as well as in the corresponding districts of Kursk region.
Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereschuk and Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported on the supply of humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian-controlled settlements in Kursk region.
