Customs Service reports on entry into force of laws on exempting energy equipment imports from duties

Laws of Ukraine No. 3853-IX and No. 3854-IX of July 16, 2024, which provide for the exemption from duties and VAT when importing into Ukraine electric generator equipment, equipment for wind and solar generation, batteries (except for low-power batteries), came into force at 00:00 on July 27, the State Customs Service of Ukraine reported on Friday.

The service draws special attention to the fact that the following goods are subject to preferential import to Ukraine, including electric generators, inverters, lithium-ion batteries and charging stations based on them, as well as solar panels for repair and/or replacement from damage and expansion of the capacity of existing solar power plants.

The department also emphasizes that the list of goods that are exempt from customs duties upon import includes equipment for the manufacture of means of counteracting technical reconnaissance and/or repair of mechanized demining machines, and such defense equipment as electronic means of detection and counteraction to unmanned aerial vehicles.
