State Emergency Service Head: Enemy hunting our employees, we constantly change approaches to work

Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Andriy Danyk has said 93 rescuers were killed and almost 400 were injured since the beginning of the full-scale war, adding that the security algorithms have been constantly changing as the enemy forces hunt Ukrainian rescuers.

"We lose people almost every day. The enemy has literally launched a hunt for our employees lately. A total of 93 employees of the State Emergency Service were killed and almost 400 were injured since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. But these numbers are growing day by day," he said in an exclusive interview with the Interfax-Ukraine News Agency.

The official underlined that the State Emergency Service "develops security algorithms, constantly changes approaches, invents new organizational or technical safety means" but voiced no details about them for security reasons.

"As soon as the enemy learns something, it makes changes to its activities. All in all, the things that were effective and working a month ago, become non-working today," Danyk said.

He also noted that robotized equipment is used to ensure rescuers' safety and active work is underway to develop radio electronic means of reconnaissance.

"All details – after the war," the official said.
