The United States will not send troops to participate in hostilities in Ukraine, the White House said after French President Emmanuel Macron refused to rule out sending Western troops.

"President Biden has been clear that the U.S. will not send troops to fight in Ukraine," Barron's quoted White House National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson as saying.

Biden believes the "path to victory" is for Congress to pass blocked military aid "so Ukrainian troops have the weapons and ammunition they need to defend themselves" against Russian invasion, Watson added.
