Zelenskyy signs law on demobilization of conscripts

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law on the demobilization of conscripts.

This is confirmed by the data from the map of draft law No. 11035 on amendments to Chapter XII of the final provisions of the law "On Military Duty and Military Service" regarding the terms of military service.

As reported, on February 23, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a draft law on the demobilization of conscripts.

According to the law, during the operation of martial law in Ukraine, it is provided for the dismissal of military personnel who have served the established terms of military service. This will make it possible to send military personnel to the reserve, whose term of military service ended in 2024.

The law provides for a mandatory deferral from conscription mobilization within 12 months after dismissal.

As noted in the law, conscripts whose service life ended during martial law and whose service was continued beyond the established deadlines are discharged from service in the reserve "within the time limits determined by the decree of the President of Ukraine."
