Poland asks to continue pilot with the abolition of e-Cherha at two BCP, extend it to one new BCP

Poland appealed to the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine Development with a request to extend the pilot project with the abolition of e-Cherha at the Nizhankovychi-Malhowice, Uhryniv-Dołhobyczow, as well as Rava-Ruska–Hrebenne border crossing points (BCP).

Deputy Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development Serhiy Derkach announced this in a quick interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

"Today we received a letter from Polish colleagues from the Ministry of Infrastructure, who suggested that we cancel the e-Cherha at the Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne BCP. We read this and understand that this is probably our last communication at the border [during a joint visit to the checkpoint] did not achieve the goal. After all, we explained that the e-Cherha system is very important for the country, we showed the result, it really works. And they seemed to agree," Derkach said.

This letter contains a request to extend the pilot project with the cancellation of the e-Cherha at Nizhankovychi-Malhowice and Uhryniv-Dołhobyczow, Derkach said.

Earlier it was reported that the agreement on the abolition of e-Cherha for empty vehicles at the Nizhankovychi-Malhowice border crossing point was extended until March 1.

In addition, freight traffic has stopped at the Yahodyn-Dorohusk BCP. Humanitarian, perishable cargo and fuel are not allowed through there. Empty trucks traveling for critically needed goods cannot leave Ukraine through this BCP. They are forced to wait in a more than 15-kilometer queue for empty vehicles at the Nizhankovychi-Malhowice BCP.

Yahodyn-Dorohusk, Uhryniv-Dołhobyczow, Ustyluh-Zosin, Shehyni-Medyka, Rava-Ruska - Hrebenne and Krakovets-Korczowa remain blocked for the free movement of trucks.
