Preparations for launch of Khmelnytsky NPP power unit No. 3 nearing completion – Energoatom
Work to prepare for the completion of power unit No. 3 of the Khmelnytsky Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is almost completed, acting head of the board of Energoatom Petro Kotin said.
"Our specialists are actively working at the sites of future power units No. 3 and No. 4. Most of the unit's premises have already been completely restored, in fact ready for installation of equipment. The necessary work has also begun on the fourth unit," Kotin said.
According to the company's press service, Kotin, together with the plant's general director and responsible specialists, toured the sites to assess the progress of the work performed.
The head of Energoatom noted that restoration work is proceeding efficiently and on schedule.
At the same time, he noted the need to continue to adhere to established schedules so that all tasks are completed within the specified time frame. In particular, the head of the company noted that power engineers must be prepared to install equipment at the third unit in the warm season.
The head of Energoatom also noted that the construction of new units is in accordance with the Energy Strategy of Ukraine. Energoatom is faced with the task of increasing capacity to 17.4 GW in 2032, and in 2050 - to 23.7 GW. Therefore, there can be no delays in preparing for the launch of new reactors.
