Borrell proposes introducing sanctions against over 120 entities, individuals due to Russian aggression in Ukraine

Head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrell proposed including more than 120 individuals and legal entities on Russia sanctions lists as part of the 12th package of anti-Russian measures, the European External Action Service (EMS) reports.

"The High Representative proposes to sanction over 120 additional individuals and entities for their role in undermining sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," the service said in the statement.

In addition, Borrell, together with the European Commission, propose to adopt restrictions on the import and export of additional categories of goods, as well as approve measures to increase the effectiveness of the "price cap" on Russian oil and to counter the circumvention of sanctions.

The proposals also include sanctions against representatives of the Russian military and defense sector, as well as the IT sector.

Earlier it was reported that the Committee of Permanent Representatives of EU countries (Coreper) included a discussion of proposals for the 12th package of restrictive measures against Russia on the agenda of its meeting on Friday.

"The decision of the EU Council and the executive regulations concerning restrictive measures regarding actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine," this item is on the agenda for November 17 under the section of foreign policy issues.
