Zaluzhny informs Bundeswehr's inspector general on upcoming counteroffensive

Last week, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny held a meeting with Inspector General of the Bundeswehr Carsten Breuer as part of his visit to Ukraine, told him about the upcoming de-occupation of Ukrainian territories and expressed hope for the supply of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.

"He described the situation at the front and talked about the preparation of the Security and Defense Forces for the upcoming actions to liberate our territory. He thanked for the military assistance already provided by Germany: IRIS-T anti-aircraft missile systems, Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery mounts, Leopard tanks and other weapons I expressed hope that in the future all our partners will make the right decision and Ukraine will receive F-16 aircraft," Zaluzhny said in Telegram on Sunday, May 7, following the meeting.

According to him, during the conversation, he and Breuer focused on the importance of further support for Ukraine, agreed to keep in touch and do everything possible to strengthen the defense capability of Ukraine.
