Kyiv regional military administration recommends citizens not to return to de-occupied settlements yet

Head of Kyiv regional military administration Oleksandr Pavliuk recommends residents of the region not rush to return to the de-occupied settlements of Kyiv region, since work is actively being carried out in the region to eliminate the consequences of the presence of Russian occupiers in it.

"We do not recommend that people return to the de-occupied areas at the moment, because, first of all, this is a mine hazard that was left by the occupiers. This includes unexploded ordnance, minefields, mine traps. We are constantly working on this," Pavliuk said on the national telethon on Tuesday.

According to him, demining of territories is carried out primarily along roads, as well as in settlements and buildings where people live.

The head of the regional military administration also said that work is underway in the region to restore electricity and gas supply to the population.

"Until May 31, the entire region will be supplied with electricity. We also assess the situation with gas supply: unfortunately, we still have 85 settlements without gas, but work in this direction is underway. Just yesterday, nine settlements were connected to gas supply," Pavliuk said.

He noted that public utilities and all the necessary specialists work in the region, as well as a large number of volunteers who help to dismantle the rubble, restore roads and bridges.

"We urge people to refrain from returning to dangerous areas for now... The end of May is a more or less real date so that it would be safe for people to return to the de-occupied areas," the head of the regional military administration said.
