Vereschuk: We hope Mariupol-Zaporizhia evacuation route to start working today

Deputy Prime Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereschuk believes the Mariupol-Zaporizhia green corridor will start working on Friday.

"We are opening the next humanitarian routes that will work in the following directions: from Mariupol in Donetsk region - in the direction of Zaporizhia... with mandatory clearance along the entire route. A convoy with humanitarian cargo and buses to Mariupol will leave Zaporizhia. We expect and hope that the route will work today," Vereschuk said at a briefing on Friday.

Vereschuk also said that on Friday the green corridor from Volnovakha, Donetsk region, in the direction of Pokrovsk, will also start working.

The minister listed the following evacuation routes: Polohy (Zaporizhia region) – Zaporizhia; Energodar – Zaporizhia; Izyum - Lozova (Kharkiv region); Bucha – Kyiv; Hostomel – K \yiv; Kozarovychi - Kyiv; Mykulychi – Kyiv; Andriyivka (Kyiv region) – Zhytomyr; Makariv (Kyiv region) - Zhytomyr; Borodianka (Kyiv region) – Zhytomyr.

"Borodianka [green corridor] did not work yesterday, which was reported to the Red Cross and I sincerely hope that it will work today," Vereschuk said.

She said that new routes of humanitarian corridors are currently being developed that will bring the necessary medicines, water, food to Kherson, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and other regions.
