Mariupol remains under siege, while fighting in Maryinska community going on since beginning of day - head of Donetsk regional military administration

Head of Donetsk regional civil-military administration Pavlo Kyrylenko says that Mariupol remains under siege, and a battle has been going on in the Maryinska community since the beginning of the day.

"Operational information about Russian invasion during the night of March 8-9. Mariupol remains under siege. The Russians again prevented civilians from leaving the city and prevented humanitarian aid from entering the city. This is genocide in the center of Europe in the 21st century!" he wrote on Facebook.

Accordingly, a battle has been going on in Maryinsky community since the beginning of the day, the enemy is shelling Ukrainian positions from Grads and 120-mm mortars.

Shelling continues in Svitlodar community, there are damaged houses.

In Avdiyivka community, the night passed relatively calmly, without shelling of the civilian population and without losses.

In Toretsk community, two houses were damaged in the village of Pivnichna.
