Vereschuk calls on Russia to cease manipulating lives of Ukrainian civilians

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereschuk has called on the Russian authorities to stop manipulating the lives of civilians in Ukraine and open humanitarian corridors to evacuate citizens and deliver aid to the occupied territories and cities.

Her remarks came in response to Russia's proposal to open flexible corridors for the evacuation of Ukrainians to Belarus and Russia.

Vereschuk expressed hope that French President Emmanuel Macron understands that Russia is using his name and intentions to help Ukrainians for its own purposes.

"We have sent Russia our vision of what humanitarian corridors should look like and we are ready to open such corridors from 10:00 today," the minister stressed.

She noted that Ukraine asks Russia to immediately confirm its readiness to do so and to ensure mandatory compliance with the ceasefire regime for the safe and unimpeded passage of rubber corridors by citizens.

"We demand that Russia stop manipulating and abusing the trust of world leaders… and make open the routes we have indicated. We demand that Russia accept our route options and establish the ceasefire we agreed on… Stop manipulating civilian lives!" summed up Vereschuk.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the alleged opening of "humanitarian corridors in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy and Mariupol" from 10:00 on Monday - to evacuate the population to the territory of Russia and Belarus. The "corridors" are allegedly made "at Macron's request to Putin."
