The long time that the countries that are part of NATO need to make decisions is due to the need for the implementation of procedures by many states and it is a price for democracy, adviser to the head of the President's Office Oleksiy Arestovych has said.

"You need to understand about NATO, the EU and other organizations that there is a collective principle of decision-making. 30 countries should get together, consult, express their opinion, evaluate, agree on an assessment, and so on. It takes some time. This is the price paid by Western countries and us for democracy," Arestovych said during a telethon on Saturday, answering a question from the presenters about the absence of the NATO decision to close the skies in Ukraine.
