Russian army loses 29 aircraft, 191 tanks, 5,300 personnel in Ukraine in four days – Defense Ministry

The Russian army has lost 29 planes, 29 helicopters, three unmanned aerial vehicles and five air defense systems in four days of fighting in Ukraine from February 24 to February 28 as of 06:00, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said on Facebook on Monday.

In addition, according to her, during this period the aggressor lost 191 tanks, 816 armored combat vehicles, 291 vehicles, 60 tanks, and two ships.

Of the weapons, the Russian army lost 74 guns, 1 Buk anti-aircraft missile system, and 21 Grad multiple rocket launchers.

Losses of enemy personnel are approximately 5,300 people.

"The information is indicative and can be refined, since it is extremely difficult to obtain it after the battle, because the commanders primarily focus on the conduct of the battle. In addition, we can receive information only at the end of the battle, and battles can be extremely long in time. Data can arrive the next day, or sometimes in a day. In addition, if the battle continued at night, and began on one calendar date, and ended on another, then it is quite difficult to separate on which day certain losses occurred," Maliar said.
