Supply of vaccines from COVID-19 to Ukraine will begin in two weeks with involvement of private logistics companies - Dpty health minister

The delivery of vaccines produced by Pfizer-BioNTech to Ukraine within the framework of COVAX will begin in two weeks with the involvement of private logistics companies, Deputy Health Minister Ihor Ivaschenko said during a press briefing in Kyiv on Monday.

"Ukraine will receive vaccines in two weeks. Ukraine was included in the list of countries to which the global COVAX initiative will provide vaccine in the first wave of distribution. (...) The provision of the cold chain, which requires ultra-low storage temperatures, will be carried out with the involvement of private logistics operators, and carried out at the expense of international technical assistance," he said.

The deputy minister added that Ukraine, by February 14, intends to submit a request to increase the number of vaccines produced by Pfizer-BioNTech, which are planned to be received in the second quarter under COVAX.
