Bulgarian school may open in Odesa, Ukrainian cultural center in Sofia – Poroshenko's meeting with Borisov

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Odesa at a meeting with Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov has discussed a number of bilateral issues.

Poroshenko noted at the meeting a high level of cooperation between the two countries and the implementation of agreements, in particular, the completion of the school's overhaul, the modernization of the Odesa-Reni highway through the town of Bolgrad of Odesa region and in the future the continuation of this road transport corridor to Varna and Sofia (Bulgaria), the presidential website reported.

Also, the president of Ukraine noted that Bulgaria was visited in 2018 by 300,000 more Ukrainians than last year, and that the trade turnover between the countries grew by 46%.

In turn, the Bulgarian PM stressed the importance of the development of the port traffic.

Poroshenko recalled the need for an intergovernmental commission, which in the future will decide the economic, social, cultural and political ties between the countries.

Borisov also suggested opening a Bulgarian school in Odesa.

"The president of Ukraine supported this initiative and offered to open the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Sofia," the press service said.
