Five Ukrainian soldiers wounded, one goes missing in Donbas over past day

Militants have opened fire on the positions of Ukrainian troops in Donbas 21 times over the past 24 hours, wounding Ukrainian servicemen, the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) headquarters has said.

"Three servicemen of the Joint Forces were wounded during hostilities in the past day. One serviceman of a Joint Forces unit also disappeared over the past day. The search for him was organized," the JFO HQ said in a report posted on its Facebook page on Thursday morning.

Militants fired mainly from grenade launchers, heavy machineguns, small arms and IFV weapons on Ukrainian defenders near Krymske, Stanytsia Luhanska, Novoluhanske, Travneve, Novomykhailivka, Maryinka, Lebedynske, Talakivka, Pavlopil, Hnutove and Vodiane.

In addition, according to the JFO HQ, during the current day the militants opened fire eight times on the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Krymske, Novoluhanske, Lebedynske, Hnutove and Shyrokyne. They also fired on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Vodiane from an 82mm mortar.

"Our two defenders were wounded today," the report says.

At the same time, according to the Ukrainian intelligence, five militants were killed and four wounded over the past day.
