Kyiv records 70 shell attacks on Ukrainian military positions in Donbas in 24 hours
The Ukrainian Anti-Terrorist operation (ATO) positions in Donbas have been shelled 70 times in the past 24 hours, including with mortars and grenade launchers, the press center for the headquarters of the Ukrainian ATO operation in the country's east said on its Facebook page on Sunday.
Most of the attacks took place in the Mariupol area, according to the headquarters. The enemy fired 152-mm and 122-mm artillery at Vodiane, Shyrokyne, Lebedynske and Talakivka, and also used mortars of varying caliber, grenade launchers, large-caliber machineguns and small arms to attack Shyrokyne, Talakivka, Krasnohorivka, Lebedynske, Hnutove, Maryinka and Pavlopil, according to the statement. Tank shells were also fired at Shyrokyne.
In the Luhansk area, 122-mm artillery was fired at Novotoshkivske and mortars at Novozvanivka, Troyitske and Krymske; grenade launchers and small arms, at Stanytsia Luhanska, Novozvanivka, Lopaskyne, Popasna and Novo-Oleksandrivka, the press center said.
In the Donetsk area, enemy fired 82-mm mortars near Luhanske and various grenade launchers, large-caliber machineguns and smalls arms near Avdiyivka, Verkhniotoretske and Zaitseve, the statement said.
