Poroshenko intended to set up Constitution commission by end of week

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that a Constitution commission meant to draft amendments to the fundamental law would be set up by the end of this week.

"By the end of this week a Constitution commission will be set up," he said during the National Reform Council meeting in Kyiv on Monday.

Besides, the president urged the leaders of the parliamentary factions to delegate their representatives into the Constitution commission, which together with the profile committees will promptly elaborate the draft amendments into the Constitution.

"They [amendments into the Constitution] won't concern refusal to remove immunity from deputies and judges. But we must discuss the constitutional amendments on decentralization with the representatives of the coalition to reach a common point of view," the head of state stressed.

Poroshenko also has reported that on Tuesday he will meet with Venice Commission President Gianni Buquicchio.
