Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with acting Director (Operations) of the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau of Singapore Low Han Kwang James, in order to learn about the bureau's work, operations, structure and functions since its creation.

"The more effectively we will fight corruption, the better investment climate will be created [in Ukraine], including for businesses from Singapore, and more investment will be attracted," the Ukrainian presidential press service quoted Poroshenko as saying.

Both parties have agreed to co-operate on the training of the Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Bureau's personnel.

The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau of Singapore was created in 1952. Its personnel consists of 110 officers. Its key functions are to investigate misuse and abuse of office by corrupt civil servants and to monitor public institutions to prevent corruption.
