Leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko, speaks in favor of strengthening Ukraine's negotiating teamon achieving a ceasefire.

"Today we must be competent and professional ... I will be happy if there are 'heavyweight diplomats' there," Poroshenko said in an interview with journalist Vitaly Portnykov on the Espreso.tv TV channel.

According to him, Ukraine currently has insufficient, “or no trustworthy communication channels at all” that allow it to defend its position.

At the same time, he emphasized that the situation is not hopeless.

"We just need professionals, patriots, competent people who have the support of the United States of America and Europe to do this. It would be desirable for Ukraine and Europe to be at the negotiating table," Poroshenko believes.

The party leader also criticized the lack of communication between the Ukrainian delegation and US Presidential Special Representative Steven Witkoff.

"Who communicates with Witkoff? No one communicates. We say: Witkoff expressed the Russian narrative. I agree. Because he communicates with the Russians, he communicates with Putin, but not with the strong Ukrainian team ... Appoint those who can have the opportunity to communicate and convey the Ukrainian point of view to Witkoff, contrary to the Russian one," Poroshenko noted.

He also said that he offered his services to participate in the negotiations.
