Poroshenko considers China's initiative on peacekeeping mission in Ukraine encouraging

Leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko, considers China's initiative to carry out a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine encouraging.

"The initiative that was put forward... officially, that China is ready to consider, provided that Ukraine addresses the issue of the participation of the Armed Forces of the People's Republic of China in carrying out the Boots on the Ground peacekeeping mission on the territory of Ukraine, looks very encouraging," Poroshenko said in an interview with journalist Vitaliy Portnykov on the Espresso TV channel.

According to Poroshenko, this can be done by a different format for ensuring security.

"And here the United States must understand that if the United States abandons its global state status, then the holy place... is never empty and it will be occupied by China. And potential allies will be treated differently, who can simply switch from the United States to China," Poroshenko emphasized.

However, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, Guo Jiakun, stated at a press conference on Monday, March 24, that reports about discussions of China's participation in peacekeeping forces in Ukraine are false, the Chinese publication Global Times reports.
