Ukraine to announce sanctions against Russia on August 12 - government envoy
The committee on sanctions against individuals supporting and funding terrorism in Ukraine, including from Russia, will announce the first results of its work on August 12, the Ukrainian government's commissioner for European integration, Valeriy Piatnytsky, has said.
"I do not want to run ahead. These results [of the committee's work] will be announced on [August] 12," he said at a briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers in Kyiv on Wednesday.
Piatnytsky noted that it was planned to announce the list of Russian legal entities and individuals against whom sanctions will be introduced.
He recalled that similar measures against individuals and entities from Russia had already been announced by such countries as the United States, the EU, Japan, and Switzerland, therefore Ukraine joins the system of sanctions against Russia, which have already been imposed by the international community.
At the same time, Piatnytsky said that Ukraine currently does not intend to withdraw from the agreement on the CIS free trade area and break any other trade agreements with Russia.
