National plan prepared by economic reform committee to be adopted in December, says Yanukovych

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said that the national plan that is annually prepared by the Committee on Economic Reforms will be approved in December, and Crimea will have an important place in this plan.

"We'll have this plan in December, we will consider and adopt it. Crimea will certainly have an important place in it," he said speaking at a meeting with administrative and economic officials of Crimea in Simferopol on Tuesday.

According to the president, this plan is designed to help boost economic growth, raise the competitiveness of the state and improve living conditions of Ukrainians.

"The Autonomous Republic of Crimea accounts for about 4% of the economy of Ukraine, but in terms of political importance I think Crimea as a region will easily make it to the top three (leading regions of Ukraine)," Yanukovych said.

According to the president, when he talks to high-level officials in Kyiv he always stresses that the more initiative is given to the regions, the faster many issues will be settled.
