The Ukrainian defense forces are engaged in grueling battles with a superior enemy in the area of Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk region, the actions of soldiers are aimed at preventing defense breakthroughs and encirclement, the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Group of Forces has said Thursday.

"The command is taking measures to strengthen units, providing the necessary means for combat, strengthening and ensuring the flanks. Also, measures in case the tactical situation escalates and possible variants of its development have been planned," it said on the Telegram channel.

The hostilities are accompanied by information operations, the Khortytsia Group said, adding that the main goal of Russian propaganda is to shake public sentiment, disorientation and undermine confidence in the military leadership and the defense forces.

"Against the background of heavy fighting, personnel losses, and the frantic dynamics of the war, the enemy is increasing its psychological impact both directly on the personnel in the forward positions and on Ukrainian society as a whole," it said, emphasizing that "the enemy uses information as a weapon, skillfully hiding behind the sources of its dissemination."

"The soldiers of the Ukrainian defense forces are fighting hard and defending every position. Please observe information hygiene, carefully assess the situation and continue to support your Armed Forces. They hold the life of the state," it said.
