SBU detains FSB agents spying on reps of intl organizations in Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has neutralized an FSB agent network that, on orders from the enemy, was collecting information about officials of international organizations and volunteers in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Odesa.

"In order to establish the addresses of residence, car license numbers, and travel routes of these individuals, the Russian special service remotely recruited a capital lawyer. He attracted several accomplices from three regions of Ukraine to the criminal activity," the Telegram channel said on Tuesday.

On the instructions of the occupiers, the defendants secretly monitored the "objects," including using optical devices. "The resident (leader) of the agent group periodically set up 'observation posts' with binoculars on the roofs of buildings opposite the offices of officials of international organizations and volunteers," the report says.

He reportedly compiled information from all members of the enemy cell and sent it as a single "report" to his Russian handler, a career FSB officer.

The SBU detained the head of the spy group and his accomplices in Kyiv.

During the documentation of the criminal activities of the defendants, it was established that they also adjusted missile strikes on defense plants and energy facilities in Ukraine.

During the search, 15 mobile phones were seized from the detainees, which were used for secret communication with the occupiers. Optics and flash drives with evidence of the crimes were also seized.

Investigators of the Security Service informed the detainees of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law by prior conspiracy by a group of persons).

The perpetrators are in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The investigation is ongoing to bring to justice all members of the enemy cell.
