Two guided aircraft missiles, 79 enemy UAVs shot down in Ukraine

On Monday night, Ukrainian defenders shot down two X-59 aviation missiles and 79 Shahed-type attack UAVs, as well as other types of drones, the AFU Air Force reported on the Telegram channel.
"As of 09:00, the downing of two X-59 guided aviation missiles and 79 Shahed-type attack UAVs and other types of drones in Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad and Vinnytsia regions has been confirmed. No hits were recorded," the report says.
In addition, 49 enemy drone simulators were locally lost (without negative consequences).
"Due to the downing of enemy drones, there is damage to buildings of enterprises, institutions and private homes in Chernihiv, Sumy, Cherkasy, Poltava and Kyiv regions. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties," the Air Forces said.
As noted, from 18:00 on January 5, the enemy attacked with two X-59 guided aircraft missiles from the southern direction and 128 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of simulator drones from Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF).
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"As of 08:30, new groups of enemy UAVs are entering from the north. Take care of yourself, observe the safety requirements," the Air Force urged.
