Six more children returned to Ukraine from occupied territories – Yermak

Six more children from the temporarily occupied territories were returned to Ukraine last week as part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative of the President, Head of the President's Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said.

"While in the temporarily occupied territories, these children were constantly under threat of deportation and psychological pressure, and 16-year-old boys were threatened with forced mobilization into the Russian army. The children say that in the occupied territories, it is normal practice for boys to be taken to the city without parental consent and registered for military service instead of going to school. One of the rescued boys often skipped classes for this reason, which saved him from receiving a summons. In addition, all children in schools were taught propaganda rather than science – they were forced to sing the Russian anthem, learn history rewritten by Russia, and practice military training skills," Yermak said in his Telegram channel.

He thanked Save Ukraine and other partners involved for organizing the rescue mission to return the children home and reunite them with their families.

"Thousands of children are still in the temporarily occupied territories and on Russian territory. Returning them all home is our responsibility and the task of the president. We continue to work," Yermak said.
