Umerov on talks results with UK counterpart: We have good news on long-range weapons, robotic systems
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov discussed with British Defense Secretary John Healey in London further steps to support the Ukrainian Defense Forces – "both now and in the future."
"By the end of the year, more AS-90 artillery systems will appear on the frontline. We also have good news with regard to long-range weapons and robotic systems - the enemy will feel it on the battlefield," Umerov said on Facebook.
He also reported that he and his British counterpart agreed to work out a list of priority needs financed by frozen Russian assets.
"The key issue is investments in the Ukrainian defense industry. Britain is already involved in production, but our task is to expand these capabilities and increase production in the military and industrial complex. I separately informed my British colleague about the Victory Plan of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in particular in terms of defense," Umerov said.
He also said "the United Kingdom acts proactively, providing our soldiers with the necessary ammunition: for artillery, mortars, air defense, anti-tank weapons." The minister called this "an example for other partners, because timely deliveries make it possible to destroy the enemy more effectively."
