Blinken confirms provision of $5.55 bln aid to Ukraine

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the allocation of $5.55 billion in support of Ukraine within the framework of the presidential powers to reduce weapons, which will make it possible to transfer American weapons to Ukraine and then replenish American stockpiles.

"Today, I am directing the drawdown of $5.55 billion in remaining authority in support for Ukraine’s defense. The United States and more than 50 nations stand united with Ukraine, and this support will ensure continued robust support in the months ahead," he said on the X social network.

In addition to this money, U.S. President Joe Biden officially announced the allocation of an additional $2.4 billion, which means the total amount of additional defense assistance to Ukraine will be $7.9 billion, for which President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the U.S. earlier today.
