Housing services subsidies in Ukraine 76.8% down in Jan-Sept

Subsidies intended to compensate household expenses for housing and utilities services in Ukraine in January-September 2018 amounted to UAH 782.5 million, which is 76.8% or UAH 2.561 billion less than in January-September 2017.

According to the State Statistics Service, these figures are given without taking into account the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, Sevastopol and part of the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Since the beginning of 2018 subsidies have been allocated to 3.156 million households, which is 59.2% less than in the same period of 2017.

The average size of subsidies to compensate for the costs of housing and utilities services per family in September 2018 decreased by 31.6% compared to September 2017 and amounted to UAH 102.30.

In September 2018, some 2.617 million households received subsidies for housing services, which is 6.8% more than in August.

As reported, with reference to the State Statistics Service, in 2017 the total amount of subsidies intended to compensate the costs of families for housing and utilities services amounted to UAH 3.980 billion, which is 1.4 times less than in 2016.
