Coal stocks at Ukrainian TPPs 1.8% up in a week

Coal stocks in the warehouses of thermal power plants (TPPs) in Ukraine in the period from February 8 to February 15 rose by 1.8%, or by 39,500 tonnes, from 2.218 million tonnes to 2.258 million tonnes, national energy company Ukrenergo reported on its website.

In particular, the stocks of anthracite coal amounted to 882,200 tonnes (of which 159,600 tonnes at Luhansk TPP), those of gas coal and long-flame coal reached 1.375 million tonnes (of which 274,800 tonnes at Burshtyn TPP).

Coal stocks as of February 15, 2016 exceed stocks as of February 15, 2015 by 1.5 times or 1.486 million tonnes.

Ukrenergo said that energy consumption in the morning of February 15 was 19.817 GW, while 35 coal power units at the TPPs generated 5.641 GW, the nuclear power plants (NPPs) had a capacity of 10.59 GW, hydroelectric power plants 1.178 GW, combined heat and power plants 2.286 GW, and alternative energy units 122 MW.

No energy supply was between mainland Ukraine and Crimea.
