Price of gas from Europe under most contracts lower than Russian gas in Q2, 2015 - Naftogaz

The price of natural gas supplies from Europe in the second quarter of 2015 under most contracts will be lower than gas supplied by Russia's Gazprom, Naftogaz Ukrainy Director for Business Development Yuriy Vitrenko has said.
"Due to new, more advanced trading strategies, as well as through effective partnership with our European suppliers, under most contracts the price of gas deliveries in the second quarter will be lower than that by Gazprom," he wrote on his Facebook page.
"In addition, the majority of our suppliers believe us to the extent that began providing a small trade credit despite the war and difficulties with the sovereign risk," Vitrenko said.
As reported, the key suppliers of gas to Ukraine from Europe are RWE, Statoil, GDF Suez, E.ON, Royal Dutch Shell, and TrailStone.
In the first quarter of 2015, Ukraine imported 3.6 billion cubic meters of gas from Europe, and 2.2 billion cubic meters from Russia.
