Boryspil airport sees 13% fall in passenger traffic in 2014

Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv), the largest airport in Ukraine, saw passenger traffic fall by 13% in 2014 compared to 2013, to 6.89 million people.

The airport's press service told Interfax-Ukraine that the large reduction in aviation on the domestic market was expected, due to the economic and political situation in Ukraine.

The number of departures from Boryspil airport in 2014 was 74,000, 11% down on 2013.

Last year the airport handled 25,055 tonnes of cargo (7% down) and 4,881 tonnes of mail (21% down).
