The cost of repairs to the Sloviansk thermal power plant (TPP) is estimated at UAH 300-400 million, the first deputy head of Donetsk Regional State Administration, Andriy Nikolayenko, has said.

"The cost of repairs is evaluated at UAH 300-400 million," Nikolayenko said at a meeting with the participation of Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk in Sloviansk, Donetsk region.

The official also added that Sloviansk TPP employs about 32,000 people, the company provides heat to the settlement of Mykolaivka, in which about 25,000 people live.

However, the department for external communications of PJSC Donbasenergo reported that as of July 15 the territory of the industrial site, the buildings and facilities at Sloviansk TPP had been demined. The exception is the coal warehouse, where an explosive device was discovered.

"The station staff was allowed to inspect and detect damage to the equipment, communications, buildings and structures. The industrial site was cleared of broken glass, 80% of the broken windows in the buildings were dismantled. Garbage collection in workshops and on the territory of the enterprise has been finished," reads a press release.
