Ukraine to raise issue of possible US assistance in restoring Okhmatdyt – Kuleba

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba announced his intention to raise the issue of possible U.S. assistance in restoring and re-equipping the Okhmatdyt children's hospital damaged by the Russian attack.
During a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington, Kuleba said a Russian attack on Okhmatdyt took place within a few hours. The Foreign Minister indicated that "this is an attack on the future of Ukraine." "Because children are our future, this should not go unanswered," he said.
"I will not hide from the press that I will raise the issue of possible U.S. assistance in restoring and re-equipping this hospital, because we need to restart it as soon as possible. These children need daily support, daily help," Kuleba said.
The minister also said he expects a discussion on "how we can further strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities."
He thanked the United States for its support and noted Blinken's personal role "in rallying the world to ensure the supply of necessary equipment to Ukraine."
"As far as NATO is concerned, it looks like there is a very important meeting of leaders coming up. Thank you for your hard work in achieving some very important agreements on air defense, as well as for the assistance that NATO will provide to Ukraine. This is all very important, and I look forward to continuing our partnership, friendship and cooperation," Kuleba said.
