"The agreement concerns the development of the potential of these regions and has a common position: such cooperation will also help in solving the humanitarian emergency in Kyiv region caused by the military aggression of the Russian Federation and its medium- and long-term consequences," Giani said.

Both regions intend to strengthen ties between the population and institutions, support forms of cooperation for mutual development, and initiate joint actions for the needs of residents of Kyiv region. As the Governor of Tuscany stressed, the signing of the Agreement completes a long process of dialogue that began a year ago during a videoconference with Kyiv region.

It is indicated that the Agreement provides for the promotion of exchange and cooperation processes in specific areas, such as: economic development and entrepreneurship, academic, scientific and cultural cooperation, business opportunities, research and innovation, and healthcare. As indicated in the Embassy, it is in the field of healthcare, in which the Tuscany region has special developments, that it is planned to concentrate the main and priority support for Kyiv region.

In addition, in order to achieve further goals provided for in this Agreement, the parties will exchange experiences and hold meetings; will develop joint projects in areas of mutual interest; will cooperate and support residents of the region affected by military aggression.

The Agreement is valid until September 30, 2025.
