USA extends possibility of staying with humanitarian passwords for two years for Ukrainians – ambassador

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has made a decision providing an opportunity for Ukrainian citizens whose stay in the United States on humanitarian passwords expires this year to receive new humanitarian passwords for up to two years, Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova has said.

"The right to restore their humanitarian password status was granted to both Ukrainians who arrived in the United States under the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) program, and citizens who were provided with a humanitarian password at checkpoints across the U.S. state border in the period from February 11 to April 25, 2022, before the introduction of this program," Markarova wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

According to her, information on the conditions and procedure for obtaining new humanitarian passwords by Ukrainian citizens is published on the website of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) at http://surl.li/qzpzs.
