Zelenskyy holds meeting with delegation of U.S. senators in Lviv

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting in Lviv on Friday with a delegation of U.S. senators led by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

"At the meeting with the delegation of the U.S. Senate, first of all, I thanked for the positive vote on the package of support for our state, our soldiers," the president said in his evening video address.

According to Zelenskyy, "this package is not an ordinary package, it is of fundamental importance for our defense both in terms of its content and in terms of what signal the support or non-support of this package gives to the world."

The head of state informed the senators about the situation on the battlefield now, about the direct connection between what weapons Ukrainian soldiers have and what results Russia is achieving.

"Sufficiency of artillery and sufficient range are key things for our Defense Forces. And, of course, we are working very actively to deprive Russian aircraft of the opportunity to dominate the skies near the front this year, as well as on joint defense production projects. We discussed relevant priorities with the U.S. delegation," he said.
