Anti-Ukrainian rallies in Poland unacceptable, they violate Ukrainian-Polish solidarity principles – MFA

Anti-Ukrainian rallies in Poland, in addition to the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border, not only cause damage to Ukraine's economy, but also violate the principles of Ukrainian-Polish solidarity, Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko has said.

"The latest examples are especially radical actions – the spoiling of Ukrainian grain on the border and a farmers' demonstration under anti-Ukrainian slogans in Wroclaw. These rallies, in addition to the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border not only cause multiple damage to Ukraine's economy, which is already suffering from Russia's aggression, but also violate the principles of Ukrainian-Polish solidarity. Ukrainians pay with their lives so that Polish and other European cities can live in peace. This must not be forgotten or taken for granted," he said on Facebook on Friday.

The diplomat emphasized that any attempts to weaken the economy of Ukraine by radical or anti-market measures will only undermine its capability to hold back the Russian aggression, create additional threats for the security of Poland and its well-being.

"Ukraine has always been standing up for a constructive approach to addressing the issues of Ukrainian grain transit and trade. We expect that the Polish authorities will use the same approach, particularly when it comes to effective prevention of illegal actions against Ukrainian cargos and proper response to rhetoric that caused damage to bilateral relations," Nikolenko said.

He also said that any attempts to undermine the foundation of solidarity between Ukraine and Poland and their people will not succeed.

"Ukraine is determined to strengthen friendship and mutual respect with Poland, with which we have a common European future," the diplomat said.
