Kyiv, Hamburg sign Memo of Cooperation in field of transport, mobility transformation

Representatives of the municipal enterprise Road Traffic Management Center signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of transport and transformation of mobility with the Hamburg Public Transport Association, according to the Department of Transport Infrastructure of Kyiv City State Administration.

"This Memorandum is a new step in the strategic partnership between Kyiv and Hamburg within the framework of the Agreement for Solidarity and the Future, signed in 2022 by Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko and First Mayor of Hamburg Peter Tschentscher, which demonstrates the comprehensive support of Ukraine from the German people and government," the message noted.

Director of the municipal enterprise Road Traffic Management Center Oleksandr Mischenko noted that German partners are well aware that Kyiv is one of the most important logistics centers in the context of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, therefore they understand the importance of further joint work and support of the capital.

"Road Traffic Management Center is a specialized enterprise with extensive experience in the development of road traffic organization and safety. The study by specialists of our enterprise of European experience and specifically Germany will allow us to optimize our work when designing traffic management schemes, introducing effective traffic light regulation and traffic calming devices," Mischenko said.

The memorandum involves the exchange of practical experience and best practices in traffic planning and regulation, including the operational management and maintenance of traffic light systems, in the prioritization of public transport in traffic light regulation, integrated coordination of the construction site and program management, digitalization of route management, development of a citywide strategy for pedestrian and bicycle traffic , improving public transport to provide reliable, safe access to transport, including digital applications, and sustainable urban mobility planning.
