Ukraine to follow path of freedom with those it respects, who respect its statehood – Zelenskyy
On the 90th anniversary of the memory of the victims of Holodomor, the solidarity of all free people is visible, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
"Ninety years have passed. Today our prayers will sound. And our words will sound in defense of justice. And our solidarity will be visible - the solidarity of all free people who will light candles of memory as a sign that Ukraine will never forget its people, whose lives were carried away by the Holodomor-genocide,” the President said on his Telegram channel on Saturday.
He is convinced that Ukraine cannot be broken, conquered or destroyed, when on the night before the memory of the victims of the Holodomor “the work of our air defense was heard, when the weapons of our soldiers worked to protect the lives of Ukraine, when our rescuers of the State Emergency Service liquidated the consequences of enemy shelling and helped people.”
“Ukraine will survive. And it will be free. And it will follow the path of freedom together with those in the world whom it respects and who respect our state. This is only our choice - and so it will be,” Zelenskyy said.
According to him, prayers, the desire for justice and fire, symbolizing national memory, will unite the Ukrainian nation.
“We will never forget what Ukraine had to go through. And we will definitely stop the new genocide that Russia, which inherited the crime of totalitarianism, brought to our land,” the President concluded.
