Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, at a proposal of the government, decided on Friday to send more military equipment to help Ukraine.

As reported on the Finnish government website, this will be the 20th delivery of military equipment to Ukraine. Replacing the defense equipment contained in this package will cost Finland approximately EUR 100 million.

"Finland's 20 defence materiel packages now have a total compensation value of EUR 1.5 billion," Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen said.

For operational reasons and to ensure assistance reaches its destination safely, additional information about the package's contents, delivery method or schedule will not be disclosed.

The government noted that when deciding on additional assistance, both the needs of Ukraine and the resources of the Finnish Defense Forces were taken into account.

"What is at stake in Ukraine's defence struggle is the security environment outlook on Europe and Finland in the current decade. Together with our allies, we remain unwavering in our commitment to support Ukrainians," Häkkänen stressed.
