President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the strength of our defense and security forces is in the fortress of our people.

"I had the honor to present national awards to our soldiers, relatives of our soldiers in honor of the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer. Mother of the Hero of Ukraine Oleksandr Matsievsky. Father and wife of the Hero of Ukraine Taras Bobanych. To the men and women who defend our state, standing up for its defense at the call of a pure Ukrainian heart," he said in a video address on Tuesday.

According to him, "some 363 Ukrainian volunteers were honored with today's decrees, 47 of them posthumously. Hundreds of thousands of our people after February 24 and since 2014 have become Ukrainian volunteers and defend Ukraine from Russian aggression. Millions help! They are looking for everything necessary for defense, they are treating and rehabilitating after injuries, they are saving after Russian strikes, they are working for Ukraine and Ukrainians."

"We will win this war. We do everything for this. We support each other. We strengthen the state. We unite the world for the sake of our victory, in fact, from the actions of everyone who fights for Ukraine, who fights for our state and for their brothers, who does everything not to give our land or Ukrainian glory to the enemy," he also said.

Zelenskyy thanked for the chevrons handed to him during the awards ceremony for volunteers – the "Da Vinci" chevron, Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Kotsiubailo, which Alina Mykhailova handed over to me today. And one more chevron from the guys, which was handed over at the ceremony. It's an honor for me. Thank you".
