Kuleba: Germany finally realizes that Russian gas is weapon Kremlin holding at temple of European states

Germany is currently one of the leading European states in the issue of imposing an embargo on energy from the Russian Federation, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.

"Two months ago, Germany said that an oil embargo against Russia was impossible, but now, and this should be noted, Germany is one of the leading states that really "push through" the oil embargo," Kuleba said in a video message on Sunday, talking about the results of his trips to Berlin.

The diplomat said that the embargo on Russian gas is also being discussed, and, according to Kuleba, Berlin "made a fundamental political decision on the need to abandon Russian gas, since Germany's dependence on it is a problem."

"They need a little more time to resolve their gas issues. But it is very important to understand that Germany has finally realized that Russian gas is a weapon that beats, which Russia always keeps at the temple of both Ukraine and Germany, and any other European state," the diplomat said.

At the same time, he said that there are ardent opponents in German society of giving up Russian energy and transferring the weapons Ukraine needs to the country, but "they are not the majority in this country."

"Here [in Germany] there is someone to work with to move in the right direction," the minister said.
