1 min read

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allowed food market operators to sell food products labeled in a language other than the state language, if the operator can provide information about such products at the request of the consumer.

Corresponding resolution No. 234 of March 9 was published on the government website.

According to the resolution, food market operators who, due to hostilities, cannot supply foodstuffs with packaging in Ukrainian, can sell food products labeled in a language other than the state language. However, batches of these products must be accompanied by information about them in the state language. In addition, the operator is obliged, at the request of the consumer, to provide mandatory information about such products.

The sale of animal feed labeled in a language other than the state language is carried out in a similar manner.

The Cabinet of Ministers also allowed the import of humanitarian food aid to Ukraine if it is labeled in a language other than the state language.

Market operators may transfer unused packaging or containers for food and feed for packaging of similar products at other enterprises if their enterprise was closed due to hostilities.
