Residents of Energodar, a satellite city of Zaporizhia NPP, do not intend to let Russian troops into their city, its mayor Dmytro Orlov said in Telegram channel on Wednesday morning.

According to the mayor, Russian troops again drove up to the checkpoint at the entrance to the city in the morning, but residents who pulled themselves up to it convince their representatives not to enter the nuclear power plant satellite city.

"The meeting took place. We proved that Zaporizhia NPP and the city are under reliable protection. The residents will not let them into the city for a single step. They heard and went to prove to their leadership. The next meeting is at 15:00 at the same place. But everything can change in any moment! Be ready!" Orlov said.

"Now, more than ever, we need to mobilize our forces, to be together so that the enemy does not enter the city where the largest nuclear power plant in Europe is located! Let's be ready, friends!" he added.

Zaporizhia NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of installed capacity. Its six VVER-1000 power units were built according to the V-320 project. The first power unit was put into operation in December 1984, the sixth in October 1995.
