Denysenko: Column of Russian military equipment near Makariv, Kyiv region destroyed
On Monday night, a convoy of Russian military equipment was destroyed near Makariv in Kyiv region, Vadim Denysenko, adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs, has said.
“A column of military equipment near Makariv was destroyed this night, but, unfortunately, there are still Russian troops are on our territory,” he told the Ukraine-24 TV station.
Denysenko said the current situation in Volnovakha (Donetsk region) is quite difficult.
"It's a very unpleasant story near Kherson. Russian troops have attempted to … gather residents in adjacent villages ... to use them as a shield, on a contrived "humanitarian mission" in order to cross the bridge into Kherson," he said.
Denysenko said Russian troops on Monday night shelled Chernihiv, hitting several buildings, resulting in several fires.
"Emergency sirens sounded throughout the night in Zhytomyr region," he said. "The situation is basically controllable, but quite tense."
